Lost keys and replacement
Can you make a car key if I have lost all of them?+
Yes. We work from the VIN and manufacturer data; no existing key is required. All keys lost is $290, plus mobile service from $60.
Do you need the original key to make a copy?+
No. We cut to factory code rather than copying wear from an old key.
Can stolen keys be disabled?+
On most models, yes. We erase the missing key from the vehicle's memory and program a fresh set.
What if my key turns but the car will not start?+
The immobiliser may be refusing the chip. We diagnose before replacing anything.
Fobs and programming
Can you program a fob I bought online?+
Often, from $110. Send a photo with year, make and model first so we can check compatibility.
What is the difference between key types?+
A transponder has a chip; a remote-head key adds buttons; a smart key is the proximity fob for push-to-start.
Is my dead fob just a battery?+
Often. Shell or battery replacement starts at $60; a supplied and programmed replacement is $210.
Will a new key affect my warranty?+
No. Proper key programming by a NASTF registered technician does not affect the vehicle warranty.

Inside Ottawa, usually less than 30 minutes from call to servicing. We provide a realistic window for your address.
Do you come to me?+
Yes. Mobile service starts at $60, or meet us on Montreal Road with no mobile charge.
How long does the work take?+
Most jobs take 20 to 60 minutes; all-keys-lost work is usually 30 to 90 minutes.
